i'm an adult now (& other life things)
Long time, no blog! After another 6 month hiatus (whoops), I’m backkk! Let me catch you up on all the random things I’ve been up to and recent thoughts swirling around my head about life! Because it’s been crazy!
I’m officially a college graduate! The proud owner of one, hard-earned Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry! Grad weekend was INSANE and filled with a lot of joy and a very busy schedule. Between wrapping up RA duties (& helping 27 girls move out of the dorm, shoutout to my sweet M2 girlies!!), all the graduation festivities, a day trip to Bentonville, family in town, moving myself out for the last time, AND a friend’s wedding 2.5 hrs away, it was a very full weekend to say the least. But like, one of the best of my whole life?! No one can really prepare you for how it feels to say goodbye to a place you’ve called home for four years and your best friends in the whole world, but reflecting on everything now just makes me feel oh so grateful to Jesus for letting me live these years at Ozark!
I had a mild identity crisis after coming back home. What do you mean I’m never going back to school?! The first week was basically laying on the couch all day and crying at the most random times. I really tried to grieve things as they happened for the last time, but I guess you can’t escape the gloom and mild depression of those first post-grad days. It’s this weird mix of “I know my life isn’t over but my life for the last four years is over and I can never go back and relieve them” and “I’m so freaking relieved I never have to do that again, time for the next thing PLS”. This is my public apology to the guy sitting next to me on my flight home as I cried the entire time, so sorry about that.
It is wedding season again!! My childhood bestie gets married in a few weeks & my sister in 30 days!! So surreal. Full blown party planning mode over here. I LIVE for summer weddings and all the fun prep things! Nails, new dresses, GNO?? You don’t have to ask me twice! I finished writing my speech for my sister’s wedding a few days ago and was a mushy puddle. What do you mean my baby is going to be a wifey? If you need me I’ll be crying, endlessly looking at childhood pictures of us…
I’m chronically addicted to listening to Justin Bieber right now. Someone send help. Doing dishes? Speed Demon. Showering? Favorite Girl. Doing makeup? Somebody To Love. Driving with the windows down? Daises on repeatttt. If anyone wants to come scream your lungs out at his tour this year (hopefully), this is your formal invitation to join meee!!
As promised in my last blog post, your girl has continued on her tennis grind. I’m currently just shaking the rust off after not playing for a few months and trying to correct some technical things. Also in the process of looking for a tennis club in Kentucky! I’m equally excited and intimidated about joining my first rec league but cannot wait to get some play time in! Catch me on a double’s team with the sweetest retired people (& maybe meet a cute tennis boy??). I think I can officially say that this is my first real “adult“ hobby lol.
Speaking of Kentuckyyyy, I move in less than 40 days! Correction, WE (my best friends and I) move in 40 days, and praise the LORD for that!! Still shook that we’re all going. God is just so cool like that. Been thinking about all the sweet friends and Southeast staff I cannot wait to hug again so soon. Still cannot believe that one little internship last summer in a state I’d never been to turned into knowing Ellie, and Christina, and Tahlor, and CJ, and Caroline, and Rylee! Which just makes me a thousand times more excited to see what happens this time!! Current prayer request: that God would be so present in the move for my friends and I, and provide a family away from home with my host-family and residency team!
PSA of all my current favorite things in case ya care!!
Being home for the summer! Walking to dinner in the neighborhood with my fam! Catching up on sleep after being chronically tired! Endless bunches of fresh peonies from the backyard, like so many! Watching the French Open with dad! Sleepovers with sissy before the wedding! Scrapbooking pictures and letters from college! Summer nails with mom! Lots of new fun recipes! Planning summer adventures with my besties (aka best camping trip ever)! 7 mile hikes and waterfall sightings!
Okay well hopefully you feel updated on all the things, LOVE U, MISS U, BYE! xoxoxo
